Our fans who made the long trip to Tranmere on Saturday were certainly in fine voice.
And not just during the game, when they made so much noise that you would have thought we were the home team.
It was an unbelievable effort by the 175 of them inside Prenton Park and I can tell each and everyone of them that me and the lads really appreciated it.
It was fantastic to get that support and it went a long way to making the day a truly memorable one, so thank you all!
On the subject of singing, I don’t know how the fans still had voices when some of them made the trip home on the same train as us.
They filled the station with Dover songs before we boarded the train – and Richard Orlu just loved it.
They kept singing his song ‘We all dream of a team of Rich Orlus, a team of Rich Orlus’.
Orlu loved it, although he looked a bit embarrassed, not that he would admit it!
It’s a cracking song, but I’m not sure I agree we all dream of a team of Orlus, though.
He’s a good player, but I think if there were 11 of him on the pitch it might just turn out to be one never-ending argument!
Our FA Cup campaign continues against Stourbridge on Saturday and, being a former Kiddy player, I know them well!
I have had a lot of good battles against them and they are always tough to beat, so I’m looking forward to locking horns with them again.
Hopefully we will win and move another game closer to the third round, and maybe a realisation of a dream for me.
I am a Nottingham Forest fan and my dream is to draw them away and play at the ground where my love of football began.
One of my first footballing memories is when my older cousin took me to watch my first professional game there.
After experiencing the atmosphere and the passion of the fans I was hooked.
It would be fantastic to experience it as a player there.
Until next week. COYW!
