Kevin Lokko is enjoying life with Dover after joining from Stevenage on loan in February.
The centre-back has spent the majority of the season on loan at Dagenham & Redbridge but off the field financial troubles meant he had to return to his parent club.
The 22-year-old has had an immediate impact with Whites, helping them to back-to-back wins in the two games he has started.
Lokko said: “It was quite a strange one because of the situation at Dagenham meant I had to come back to Stevenage and I had not been starting there.
“I then went back out on loan to Dover to start more games. I’m enjoying it. It’s important for me to be playing games regularly.
“Dover play a slightly different way as it’s more a man-to-man set up. The gaffer wanted me to be on the bench and watch how they play for a couple of games. The gaffer has shown a lot of trust in me and it has been good so far.”
Lokko, who has previously played for Maidstone United and Welling United, scored in Dover’s 2-0 win at Chester in their last match.
Confidence is high for Chris Kinnear’s side as they occupy the last National League play-off place.
Lokko said: “It is always important to get goals and to make an impact. Hopefully, now everyone knows what I’m capable of.
“Dover have good team spirit. They don’t have anyone with a lot of ex-Football League experience like some of the other teams but they have a team that is tight.”
Dover had to watch the results come in on Saturday as their match at Eastleigh was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.
They have tough matches coming up starting with leaders Macclesfield coming to Crabble on Saturday.
Lokko added: “We have won two league games on the spin and kept two clean sheets, so you always want to get out there when you are winning. Momentum will see you through and you just want to keep that run going.
“We’ve had a week’s rest and can go into it fresh and prepared. It’s a big game and we will go into it confident.
“We are at home and I’m sure we can get the result we want. I’m just looking to play games for Dover and help get the team into the play-offs and promoted. We will see what will happen after the end of the season.
“I’m a Stevenage player still and I will go back in pre-season and challenge for a place in the team.”
