An American Football team is moving to Dover in the hope of encouraging more young people to take up the sport.

The Cinque-Port Monarchs has previously been based in Sandwich, but has now moved to the Kearsney campsite, off Kearsney Avenue, meeting on Sundays from 10.30am to 2pm.

Set up in 2006, the club has achieved some success in local tournaments, and coach Jay Wood-Stoddard is hoping to build on this.

In August, the club will be hosting an American Football summer camp at the campsite for boys and girls aged 11 to 16 years. It’s from August 18-22, and the cost is £75. Numbers are limited to 60.
