Dover have been handed a play-off boost with the news that defender Sean Raggett has declared himself fit.
The 22-year-old centre-back limped off in the last Vanarama National League home game against Grimsby two weeks ago with a hamstring problem.
He was ruled out of Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Kidderminster which confirmed Whites’ top-five place but hopes to be fit to feature – if selected – in the regular season finale against Forest Green Rovers on Saturday (5.30pm).
He said: “It’s not quite an oxygen tent but I have been resting and icing my leg and performing gentle exercises the physios have given me. I’m giving it every chance.
“I did it in the first half against Grimsby but was able to play on for 40 or 50 minutes. It’s not too bad. At the time they said a week or two.
“Saturday came a bit too early for me but hopefully I will be fully fit for this weekend – although it’s up to the gaffer if he’ll want to put me straight in or save me for the play-offs.
“If it was up to me I’d want to play – I’d like to play every game if I could.”
Raggett claimed he had no preference over whether Dover are paired with Forest Green Rovers or Grimsby in the play-offs, saying: “To be honest, we fancy ourselves against anyone.
“We are probably in better form than Forest Green or Grimsby, although Braintree are in good form, too.”
As for an additional two games in quick succession at the end of a 46-game season, he added: “We have a pretty young and fit squad. It’s been a long, hard season – all the games and the long away trips do take their toll – but we’ll have no problems playing three games in a week. We’re looking forward to it.”
