Defender Sean Raggett hopes Dover’s defence can find their mean streak again in Tuesday's Vanarama National League clash with Braintree at Crabble.
Whites lost 3-2 at Cheltenham Town on Saturday - the most goals they have conceded in their campaign.
Raggett doesn’t want a repeat after seeing his side suffer their second defeat of the season and lose their seven-game unbeaten record with it.
The England C representative said: “I hate conceding goals. Any defender, any goalkeeper, does.
“We work so hard on that goals against column and we were right up there with the meanest defensive records in the league before this game.
“But that went out the door on Saturday with a poor second half performance.
“As a team we made it far too easy for them - we sat back and let them boss a game we should have had closed out by half-time.
“It was a disappointing way to end a game that had started so well for us.
“We know how strong we are in defence, we just have to get this loss out of system and get back to normal against Braintree."
