Chris Kinnear says head must not drop following Dover’s 2-0 defeat at Aldershot Town on Saturday.
Whites remain bottom of the National League and they have won just once in 12 games.
Kinnear believes the better side won on the day.
He said: “Very disappointed. Both goals were exactly the same. Same position down the side and that’s not right.
“We can’t just drop our heads we have to just pick up our heads. These are a decent club and we just have to get on with it.
“Today I think they were a little bit better than us. We are not playing at our full potential and we have to get our heads around it.
“As I’ve said before, there’s no use feeling sorry for yourself as no one feels sorry for you.”
Adam May scored a goal in each half for Aldershot to give them a comfortable victory.
Dover failed to test home goalkeeper Jake Cole and did not have much of a threat going forward.
Chris Kinnear also handed a debut to loanee Bradley Barry who came straight into the starting 11.
Kinnear said: “It’s disappointing and we just have to move on and not feel sorry for ourselves. We keep saying it.
“We have been struggling most of the season to score and we have been trying to do something about that.
“It’s not easy coming in. Especially when we are not winning games but that’s what you’ve got to do.”
Whites travel to Sutton on Tuesday in the hope of picking up just their second win of the season.
Sutton have started the season well and sit seventh in the table.
Kinnear added: “Everyone is feeling the same way at the club but players are not playing to their full potential.
“It’s a different game there on 3G and they launch the ball up there. It’s all part and parcel of trying to overcome different things.”
