Dover remain one point clear at the top of the National League after they drew with managerless Leyton Orient on Saturday.
Cheered on by more than 500 travelling supporters, the Whites went ahead midway through the first half with a goal from Nortei Nortey.
But the O's piled on the pressure in the second half and deservedly levelled through Craig Clay.
Chris Kinnear marked his 600th league game in charge of Dover by naming an unchanged team on the back of a nine-match unbeaten run in the league.
His opposite number for the day, Ross Embleton, was in the Orient dugout as interim head coach following the sacking of Steve Davis this week.
Embleton made four changes from the side which lost 2-1 to Ebbsfleet in Davis' final match, including the return of top scorer Macauley Bonne from international duty with Zimbabwe. There was a recall for former Crystal Palace and Watford midfielder Jobi McAnuff while Joe Widdowson and Craig Clay also came into the starting XI.
O's goalkeeper Charlie Grainger then injured himself in the warm-up, so Sam Sargeant took his place between the posts.
And it took a vital save from Sargeant to stop Whites taking the lead inside the first minute. Poor defending from Widdowson allowed James Alabi a clear run on goal but Sargeant stood up well to deny him.
Straight up the other end went Orient, winning a corner which Bonne headed over, before Dover's Mitchell Pinnock drifted a free-kick wide from 30 yards.
A decent passing move involving Dan Happe, Bonne and Clay finished with James Brophy cutting the ball back for James Dayton but his shot was well blocked by Manny Parry.
Alex Lawless then found space in midfield and hit a shot which deflected behind. Orient worked the corner to McAnuff on the edge of the box and he took a touch before rifling a shot wide.
Tranmere loanee Alabi showed good strength and lashed a shot just over before the visitors went ahead in the 23rd minute.
Alabi set the ball for Nortey on the right-hand side of the box and he passed it into the far corner with his left foot.
Leyton Orient looked to respond and Bonne dragged a shot across the face of goal before Jake Caprice forced Mitch Brundle to scramble his tempting right-wing cross behind for a corner.
The hosts were guilty of over-playing at times; Caprice twice overlapping well from full-back but failing to find a team-mate in the middle.
There was real concern for Josh Passley when he collided with the advertising hoardings inside the Orient half and although the full-back was eventually able to play on, he was soon down again.
There was a lengthy delay while medics attended to the Dover man and the stretcher was called for but fortunately Passley was able to walk off. Loui Fazakerley came on in his place.
Brophy hit a good shot in the second of five added minutes at the end of the first half but Mitch Walker was equal to it.
The first time Orient got into a decent crossing position after the break, Dayton sent his delivery straight to a blue shirt and Dover cleared the danger.
Fazakerley picked out Connor Essam with a cross from deep at the other end but the centre-half failed to keep his header down.
The home side started to crank up the pressure and it needed a great interception tackle by Essam to stop Bonne pulling the trigger after Dayton had surged past several players in midfield.
Bonne then had a header parried by Walker and a second effort blocked by Essam as Whites survived an almighty scramble in their penalty area.
Orient huffed and puffed but Dover's work ethic was immense right across the pitch while decision-making in the final third continued to let the home side down.
But the pressure finally told 12 minutes from time when Dayton's clever pass found Clay and his shot found the back of the net via a deflection in the middle.
Suddenly Brisbane Road was rocking and only some desperate defending stopped the O's taking the lead moments later.
Parry got up well to meet a Brundle corner but couldn't keep his header down and Orient pushed hard for a late winner. Dayton's superb cross from the right picked out Bonne at the back post but Walker made a fantastic save to keep his downward header out.
Orient laid siege to the Dover goal in the closing stages but when McAnuff's free-kick from just outside the box flew over in stoppage-time, their hopes of a late winner disappeared.
