Tobi Sho-Silva believes it is only a matter of time before Dover turn things around this season.
Whites have struggled in the first two months of the season and after the 2-0 defeat at Aldershot Town on Saturday found themselves bottom of the National League.
A draw at Sutton United on Tuesday lifted them out of 24th but they are still searching for their first win in nine games.
Sho-Silva said: “Everyone is fighting hard and the spirits are still good in the camp.
“We’ve had a good team spirit ever since I’ve been at Dover. The manager wants us to have that good togetherness and we do have that unity. We are pushing together to go in the right direction.
“I don’t think where we find ourselves in the table actually shows the talent we have in the changing room. I know it is only a matter of time before we turn things around.”
Sho-Silva has made four appearances so far this season after missing games at the start of the season through an ankle injury.
It was a further injury setback after spending most of the 2017-18 season on the sidelines.
He said: “It was a tough time. For me it was just a setback but it makes you stronger and wiser. I learnt a lot and gave me that extra hunger to make sure I’m ready for this season.
“That time out I used wisely to make sure I was keeping up with everyone. If that meant going swimming and doing extra sessions then I would do it to keep up to speed. I don’t feel like it set me back at all.”
The 23-year-old is yet to score this season in his four appearances but believes the goals are just around the corner.
He added: “Goals are coming 100%. As a striker you just want to get chances and do the right thing. You don’t want to put yourself under too much pressure.
“You have to make sure you get in the right areas, hit your targets and make the right decisions.
“It is only a matter of time before they start going in. I’m chilled and at peace and looking forward to getting the team out of this situation.
“Most strikers I’ve spoken to or played with have said you just have to keep knocking at the door and once one goes in the floodgates will open. It’s not necessarily a confidence thing. All of our strikers believe in our ability and it’s just not falling for us at the moment.”
Sho-Silva recently raised money for, and then visited, children’s education in Rwanda who otherwise would not be able to afford education.
He raised more than £3,000 and hopes to do more in the future.
Sho-Silva said: “It was amazing. It was beyond my expectations. It is a dream I’ve had for a long time and I’ve always wanted to give back.
“It was humbling experience and it has propelled me to do more. I’m a strong believer that you are blessed and to be able to give back and serve in this capacity.
“I came back and was extremely grateful and was inspired to see what the next thing was.
“It has opened my eyes to where I’m going and pushed me in my football to be as successful as I can be so I can make more of a difference.”
