Dover will officially open their new £1.3m Family Stand at Crabble ahead of the National League game with Guiseley on Saturday, with a host of dignitaries set to attend as part of the club’s Family and Diversity Day.
The project has benefited from grants of around £400,000 from the Football Foundation with the remaining £725,000 or so funded by chairman Jim Parmenter and sponsorship.
The 500-seat stand will provide the club with Football League standard changing rooms for players and officials, a medical room and a new ground control room.
There will also be new toilet facilities and a dedicated section for disabled supporters. Mr Parmenter told the club website: “We are investing into developing and improving Crabble to meet the updated Football League criteria and also to provide a better matchday experience for our supporters – including those with disabilities.
“We hope that supporters enjoy the new facilities.”
Gates will open at noon and there are offers including free hot dogs and goodie bags and pre-match entertainment from the likes of the Vista Twisters Cheerleading Team.
Tickets have been given to all 52 schools in the district while the day will also see the launch of the One Town, One Team, One Dover campaign.
