New signing Jamie Allen has told Dover fans what they can expect from him next season.
Allen joined Whites for an undisclosed fee from Southport this week and will leave his hometown of Preston to join their National League promotion push.
The 21-year-old striker scored 10 goals for Port this season and believes he’ll be a good fit at Crabble.
Allen said: "Dover are an attacking team and the way they’re going to play, hopefully it will suit me and I can come here and score goals.
"I’m pretty nippy, I’ll play on the shoulder and I’m a constant pest. I won’t give defenders half a second’s peace and if I get chances, I’ll be looking to take them and do the team favours.
"It’s a big year ahead for me and I’m hoping to take the chance and for the club to do well and get promotion because that’s what the aim is.
"The last three seasons, they’ve been flirting with the play-offs and promotion so we’re hoping next year is the one."
Allen was instantly impressed when he met manager Chris Kinnear and chairman Jim Parmenter, who worked hard to make the deal happen.
He said: "They’re fantastic. They’re both taking the club in the right direction. They’re ambitious and when they were speaking about the club, I wanted to be part of it.
"My agent was in contact with Dover. As soon as they showed an interest, we chased them up on it and things happened pretty quickly.
"We played Dover towards the end of the season and I had a decent game. That’s when I heard about the interest.
"It was all in the hands of my agent. Once things were up and running, we kicked on and got things sorted pretty quickly."
