MORE than 500 Dover Athletic fans will head to Tonbridge on Saturday for the Ryman League Division 1 play-off final.

A run of seven wins in their last nine games has seen Whites recover well from a desperate position and now they stand one game away from finishing the job.

Given that a highly controversial 3-2 defeat sent Dover down at Tonbridge last April, talk all week has been of fate and destiny and chairman Jim Parmenter said: "It’s poetic. Tonbridge is a very appropriate place for this game, as it was there last season that we were relegated."

The two games between the sides this season failed to produce a single goal, and with so much at stake neither manager is likely to be taking many risks.

Whites’ win over Metropolitan Police in the play-off semi-final came at a cost as in-form striker Jimmy Dryden injured his right knee again and is rated doubtful for Saturday. He joins Shane Hamshare and Daniel Braithwaite on the injury list.

Danny Chapman and James Rogers are still suspended and Walker is down to the bare bones.

Angels player-manager Tony Dolby will be without Ray Powell, who was sent off in their 2-0 semi-final win over Tooting & Mitcham United.
