Bobby-Joe Taylor said Saturday's remarkable 2-1 National League win over Fylde illustrated the growing belief within the Dover squad.
The Whites were already trailing to Danny Rowe's 26th minute goal when winger Anthony Jeffrey was sent off midway through the second half following a challenge on Fylde's Danny Philliskirk.
Dover had very much been on the front foot until that stage, and even after the loss of Jeffrey they continued to take the game to Fylde, with Taylor's cross creating the opportunity for Inih Effiong's equaliser on 83 minutes.
The big striker then popped up with the winner three minutes into time added on, taking his tally to eight in the last 11 games.
Asked if he'd been involved in a game quite like it Taylor – who was the sponsors' man-of-the-match – said: "Off the top of my head, no I don't think so but I'm absolutely buzzing.
"To be 1-0 down with 10 men with 20 minutes to go and end up getting a winner right at the end it was unbelievable, I'm just delighted for all the boys.
"We didn't start as well as we have done lately but at 1-0 you're always in the game and that's what the gaffer (Andy Hessenthaler) said at half time.
"Even after the sending off I thought we looked the better side, they looked afraid of us, they sat off us and we managed to find that extra little bit.
"It just shows the character and the togetherness we have at the moment."
Of his cross which substitute Alfie Pavey headed down for Effiong's equaliser Taylor said: "Do you know what? I was saying to myself during the game my deliveries were inconsistent.
"I had a couple of good ones and then towards the end, when we were down to 10, and I had to put the ball in the box I kept hitting the first man.
"I was frustrated, but I just thought one of these is going to come off and thankfully I picked Alfie out and he's done well to get it back across to Inih and it was 1-1, game on.
"At that stage most of us would have taken a point but Inih came up to me going 'We'll get another one, we'll get another one' and that just shows the belief.
"Josh (Passley) was still getting forward, I was still trying to get on, it can just take the smallest thing to get a goal but to be fair the play for the second the little one-two between the two strikers was unbelievable."
Taylor, 23, admits he is enjoying being at Crabble and said he never saw it as a gamble even though he joined the club when they were in the relegation zone. Saturday's win extended their unbeaten run to four games and lifted them up to 21st.
He said: "You know what it didn't faze me, I knew Trigger (Nicky Southall) from Maidstone, I knew Hess because I used to play with his son Jake when I was a kid, and I knew Darren Hare because he was my youth team coach so I knew what I'd be getting when I came here.
"Being at the bottom did not faze me because there was a long way to go.
"I'm really enjoying it to be honest, I'm playing football with a good group of players, a good management team at a good club with good fans, there's nothing not to like so hopefully it's onwards and upwards.
"We won't ever give up, we won't fold. It's all good vibes in the camp, everyone's morale is high, everyone's together, everyone's believing and we can look forward now."
