Nicky Deverdics scored twice as Dover registered consecutive wins in Vanarama Conference for the first time since January 20 after beating Altrincham 2-1 at Crabble.
The midfielder struck with a goal in each half as Chris Kinnear's side moved up three places to 10th.
But the three points were only secured five minutes from full-time when Deverdics headed home captain Connor Essam's cross.
Altrincham had equalised six minutes earlier when captain Gianluca Havern headed home following a scramble in the Dover box.
Dover, who won 2-0 at Kidderminster on Saturday, started strongly and it was Deverdics who had the first effort after five minutes but his volley was wide of the mark.
Five minutes later, Deverdics put Dover ahead when his angled drive from 15 yards beat goalkeeper David Parton.
It was Deverdics' first goal since the 6-1 rout of Dartford on January 17, nine league games earlier.
Deverdics went close to doubling the lead later in the half but his 20-yard effort flew just wide.
Dover had the ball in the net 15 minutes into the second half but Sean Raggett's close-range effort following Deverdics' corner was disallowed after Sean Francis was ruled to have fouled Parton.
Stefan Payne then saw his effort from just outside the box just go over before he was also denied by Parton not long after.
Altrincham levelled not long after Essam had cleared James Lawrie's initial effort off the line.
But the joy for the small contingent of travelling fans proved to be short-lived when Deverdics' close range header ensured the visitors made the long trip home empty-handed.
