THE last obstacle to non-league restructuring has been removed and Dover Athletic now know for sure that they need a top 13 finish.
An independent tribunal has dimissed the Ryman League's objections to the changes, although the Conference and feeder leagues look set to foot the bill.
Dover can now head into Saturday's meeting with Worcester knowing that a place in the top 13 is indeed essential to guarantee a better standard of football next season.
Research into past seasons suggests as many as 60 points will be needed to ensure promotion, but manager Richard Langley feels a lower figure will be enough.
He said: "Unless something drastic happens, provided we're not losing, if we pick up another 12 or so points that would see us in the top 13."
On paper, the trip to Worcester is Whites' second toughest for the remainder of this season.
But Langley feels his side is capable of beating anyone in the division. He commented: "This league is so close its unbelievable. I speak to other managers in the league and they all the say same. There is nothing to choose between the teams."
