DOVER Athletic manager Clive Walker was desperately trying to bring two new players to Crabble this week to bolster Whites’ depleted squad in the run-up to Christmas.
With injuries and suspensions eating into his already small squad, Walker has two players in his sights, one a defender and the other a utility player.
He was hoping to have at least one signed in time to play in Saturday’s home game with Bath City and said: “I’m definitely looking to get two players in. We need a fresh face. I want us to stay at the top and stay in with a chance.
"We haven’t had a bad patch yet. Hopefully we won’t have one, but there’s still a long way to go.”
Walker has been trying without success to bring new players to Crabble for some weeks now. The need has become even more pressing with the central defensive pairing of Andy Arnott and Dean Readings both suspended for the Bath game.
