Maidstone striker Alfie Pavey has rejoined Dover Athletic on loan.
Pavey will spend a month with his old club after finding himself out of favour at the Gallagher Stadium.
Struggling Whites have been after a striker as they bid to salvage some pride in the National League this season.
Boss Andy Hessenthaler revealed they’d been priced out of a move for one target following last weekend’s defeat by FC Halifax, but they’ve struck a deal with Maidstone to take Pavey, who scored 12 goals in 38 games in his first spell at Crabble.
It’s been a frustrating campaign for Pavey, 26, who has been unable to force his way into Hakan Hayrettin’s side after arriving from Barnet at the end of June.
He scored successive winners from the bench against Chelmsford and Billericay in August but has played second fiddle to converted winger Christie Pattisson for most of the season, making just two league starts.
The return of fellow summer signings Jack Barham and Reece Grant from injuries further restricted his chances, along with the loan capture of Hady Ghandour, who has since returned to parent club Charlton.
Dover travel to Yeovil tomorrow looking for their first win of the season.
