Dover slumped to a third defeat in four Vanarama Conference games after losing 3-1 at Aldershot.
After a goalless first half, midfielder Jim Stevenson put Aldershot ahead eight minutes after the break when he headed past goalkeeper Andy Rafferty from close range from Jaydon Gibbs' cross.
He doubled the advantage with another header from Matt Saunders free-kick 15 minutes later.
Dover reduced the deficit in the 76th minute when defender Sean Francis put away substitute Stefan Payne's cross.
But the joy for the 70 travelling fans in the 1,154-strong crowd didn't last long when Andre McCollin wrapped up the points after he fired past Rafferty following Sean McGinty's ball over the top.
Despite the defeat, Dover remain 13th ahead of Saturday's showdown with Lincoln at Crabble.
Earlier, Dover boss Chris Kinnear made one change to his starting line-up from the side which drew 2-2 at home to Southport last time out.
Rafferty replaced Mitch Walker in goal after missing three games with a back injury.
Payne also started on the bench after serving his three-match ban following his red card in the FA Trophy quarter-final against Bath at Crabble.
