Whites yet to get into top gear

Dover v Horsham

Assistant manager Darren Hare says Dover Athletic are facing "two massive home matches" in the next five days.

Tonight (Tuesday) Whites, in second place in the Ryman League, Premier Division table after Saturday's 3-2 win at Boreham Wood, are at home to third-placed Horsham.

And then on Saturday, the visitors to the Perrys Crabble Stadium are early leaders Ashford Town (Middlesex), who have won five matches out of five so far.

Dover were left hanging on for victory at Boreham Wood after leading 3-0 at one stage, and Hare admitted: "To be honest, although we have won four of five, I don't really think we have got into top gear yet.

"But the next two home games are massive matches, and I think we are capable of winning both of them."

Manager Andy Hessenthaler will have been pleased that centre-half Craig Cloke came through his first appearance of the season on Saturday after recovering from a kidney operation, but midfielder Sammy Moore could again be missing against Horsham because of bruised ribs.
