Woodnesborough have again won the Kent FA’s over-60s Walking Football tournament.
The Woodies, who were victorious in the inaugural tournament last year, entered two sides into this season’s competition at Maidstone which featured 12 teams, playing in three groups of four - and their A team lifted the trophy.
They finished top of their group after winning two matches 1-0, Barry Faulkner on target in both games, while drawing their other match 0-0.
Their quarter-final also finished goalless but the Woodies then won a penalty shoot-out, with keeper Steve Earle saving three spot-kicks.
The B team, meanwhile, progressed from their group as the best third-placed team following a win, a draw and a defeat by Ramsgate.
They met the Rams again in the quarter-finals and went through after a penalty shoot-out, keeper Neil George saving two of three penalties.
The semi-finals saw the two Woodnesborough teams paired against each other, and it was the A team who came out on top 2-0 thanks to two goals from Andy Taylor.
And a superb goal from Taylor saw them beat a Bexley side who had won all their matches en route to the final.
