Whether you’re wanting to boost your knowledge or progress along your educational journey, Colleges across East Kent have a Higher Education option for you.
EKC Group has a wide range of subjects on offer, at different levels that will match where you are on your educational journey. Whether you’re interested in careers in health and social care, construction or animal management, there’s an opportunity for you.
With Colleges across the region, you’re sure to find one local to you that offers a high quality course to suit your interests. Expert lecturers with experience and expertise in the field will guide you as you build your knowledge and skills.
If you’re not sure which qualification you want to take, or the subject, then you could complete an Access to HE course. These give you a vital foundation of knowledge and UCAS points that will make you a star candidate for prestigious universities.
Or you can even get started on the degree with a Higher National Certificate (HNC) or Higher National Diploma (HND), which count as the first year or first two years of a university course respectively. These can then be converted into a full BSc or BA with a one-year top-up course.
Included in this provision are Ashford College’s HNC in Engineering, Canterbury College’s HND in Healthcare Practice for England, and Broadstairs College’s HND in Computing.
If you want to launch a career as a manager at a hair or beauty salon, a VCTC qualification would be a great choice. Dover Technical College offers a Level 4 VTCT in Salon Management, which takes students through the business, stock, data, and safety aspects of the role.
Or you could use previously acquired HND qualifications to complete a degree at Canterbury College. Its renowned Canterbury School of Visual Arts offers a BA (Hons) Visual Arts top-up course, accredited by the University of the Arts London, in which learners have access to top quality equipment and studios to hone their portfolios.
If you would rather work with animals, top-up courses in BSc (Hons) Animal Science and BSc (Hons) Animal Biology and Wildlife Conservation are available at Canterbury College’s Spring Lane campus. Accredited by the University of Kent, you’ll benefit from state-of-the-art laboratories and an animal centre boasting wallabies, goats, reptiles and many more.
