There’s an exciting free talk at the historic Medway Campus on the future of highway verges taking place on Wednesday 29 March at 6pm.

Delving into how roads could be made better for wildlife and the environment, this open lecture at the University of Greenwich as part of the Medway Talks series is led by experts Deborah Sims, Senior Lecturer in Civil Engineering, and Professor Debbie Bartlett, Professor of Environmental Conservation.

The talk will explore the opportunities for sustainability, enhancing biodiversity and improving habitats for flora and fauna along highway verges. The event promises to be an exciting collaboration between the University of Greenwich's School of Science and School of Engineering and you can book your free tickets here.

Medway Talks are a new open lecture series run by leading experts of the Universities at Medway - University of Greenwich, University of Kent and Canterbury Christ Church University. You don't need to be a university student or member of staff to join the lectures.

These talks are open to everyone in the community, because they believe that knowledge should be shared - although they are not aimed for children.

The talks make a fascinating evening out in a unique setting and will be taking place at the former naval building of Pilkington until summer 2023 on a wide range of intriguing and highly topical areas of research. There will no doubt be something of interest for everyone.

Best of all, all lectures are free to attend, refreshments are provided, and parking is free.
