Sandwich Technology School in Sandwich is committed to promoting the successful transition from childhood to adulthood of those in its care. There is a culture of high expectation and focussed learning, which is under-pinned by traditional values. A ‘back to basics’ approach is reaping dividends, with year on year improvements.
They were pleased to see there has been considerable improvements noted in the school’s examination results since 2019 with 17 of their subject areas achieving higher outcomes than in 2019, the last time that external exams were sat.
Tracey Savage, Headteacher, said: “Despite a disrupted three years’ worth of education the students have done incredibly well, showing true grit and determination. I am very proud of them.”
At GCSE and beyond,the traditional subjects at STS are balanced with vocational options to ensure that the school caters for the needs and interests of all of its learners.
Sandwich Technology School is determined to help as many students as possible achieve their future dreams and aspirations in a non-selective environment and is very proud of the fact that virtually all of its students progress on to either apprenticeships, employment or university.
Students are further supported by an extensive pastoral team which is recognised as a real strength of the school by students and parents alike. The students know that when they need support, their Form Tutor will not let them down.
STS are hosting open events on Wednesday 19 and Thursday 20 October 2022, no appointment is necessary, everyone is welcome.
