Manor House Minster Nursery is set to finally open its doors on Monday 15 April.

After nearly two years of being closed, the extensive works are now completed and a beautiful reimagined setting for babies and young children is ready to welcome new families.

.

There will be open days on Saturday 16 March and Saturday 23 March from 10am to 2pm. No booking is required. Private tours can be arranged any time between Mondays and Fridays from Monday 18 March.

Brilliant babies

Babies from 6-months-old have had a beautiful area specifically designed for them with a separate sleep room, separate nappy changing station, and underfloor heating while lots of open floor space will support babies and toddlers to develop their physical skills. Activities have been carefully chosen to reflect babies and toddler’s interests, to build their skills and knowledge while the activities will also support children’s holistic development supporting a range of learning stages.

.

The importance of sleep is well known, and a purpose-built sleep room allows children to have a restful experience with cots and baby nests. The nursery follows parents' sleep routines as much as possible. Nappy changing is also adjacent to the baby room, allowing a comfortable experience by carefully chosen practitioners. The babies have their own safe and secure outdoor garden with all-weather access.

Terrific two-year-olds

Two-year-olds are constantly on the go, and Manor House Minster Nursery has designed a thoughtfully-designed space to encourage small groups of children to engage with adults and with each other. There is a strong focus on personal, social and emotional development, communication and language and their physical development. The nursery provides freeflow to the garden meaning that children can learn to be independent in accessing their own indoor and outdoor play throughout the day.

.

The two-year-olds have their own calming sensory room, sleep room and toilets, and the team provides interesting and stimulating activities and resources for little ones to learn through play. Adults provide opportunities for some hands-on, structured open ended play promoting curiosity, investigation and problem solving.

Perfect little preschoolers

Manor House Minster Nursery has lovingly designed a large playroom and classroom to enable children to be confident, capable, independent learners. A qualified teacher leads activities and resources, introducing ideas at the right level of challenge for each child. The team of skilled practitioners support children with challenging, playful activities where learning is embedded. Preschool children thrive because of the richness and variety of opportunities offered at the nursery.

.

Preschool children also take part in weekly community trips to local places of interest, and weekly trips to the Forest School at Quex Park. Forest School is a proven accelerated learning programme that, when visited, regularly builds resilience, confidence, problem solving and independence.
