For Year 11 students, a momentous occasion approaches – GCSE results day. Many will be deciding what to do next and entering into the Sixth Form is an increasingly popular option.
To coincide with results day on Thursday 25th August, Sandwich Technology School (STS) is holding an information and enrolment day, which will provide current and students from other schools with the chance to learn all about the different opportunities available at its Sixth Form.
Whether you’ve been at STS since Year 7 or join in Year 12, everyone soon settles in and benefits from the family feeling the school is celebrated for. Life within the Sixth Form is enjoyable, vibrant and a great place to make new friends.
STS Sixth Form offers a wide and varied curriculum. There is a broad range of courses to discover to suit every individual’s abilities, talents and interests, you can study:
For all routes of study, highly-skilled teachers provide lessons that are both thought-provoking and challenging. At the Sixth Form, young adults experience a new and different relationship with their teachers, which recognises their maturity and ability to take on additional responsibility, and outstanding pastoral and academic support ensures students get the best out of their time at STS.
STS has established relationships with local employers and has a dedicated careers advisor who arranges a variety of regular career days, workshops and presentations from universities and employers to inspire students and ensure they are fully informed of all the opportunities available for their future. There is a dedicated week of work experience for Year 12 students that is tailored to each students individual career aspirations.
The school is particularly proud of the fact that virtually all its Sixth Form students progress to either university, apprenticeships or employment.
