Emergency services including air ambulance crews were called following a crash involving a motorbike and a lorry.
The A299 Thanet Way was closed coast-bound between the Brenley Corner roundabout and the Dargate Services for almost two hours in the aftermath.
Police and ambulance crews were called just after 10am, and the road was shut from until just after midday.
An air ambulance could be seen flying overhead, and landed in a field next to the scene before taking off and heading for King's College Hospital in London.
The closure caused long tailbacks coast-bound, as well as congestion on the M2 at junction 7 and a two-mile queues London-bound from Dargate.
Traffic has since returned to normal.
The extent of any injuries is not yet known.
Ambulance services have been contacted for comment.
