Ashford Road A251 in Faversham blocked by M2 junction after serious lorry crash

A serious crash involving a lorry and private ambulance has closed an A-road.

The incident has happened on the A251 near Faversham, by the junction for the M2.

The crash victim has been named locally as Kev Goldsmith and his family has paid emotional tributes to him.

Pictures show police officers and fire crews at the scene, as well as the South East Coast Ambulance Service.

An ambulance service spokesman said paramedics are at the scene of a “serious” crash.

Police were called just before 2.30pm, and the road remains closed.

A spokesman said: “Officers are at the scene along with South East Coast Ambulance Service, and the road is currently closed.”
