Kent's newest Aldi supermarket is set to open its doors this month, the budget retailer has confirmed.
The store in Faversham will welcome its first customers from 8am on Thursday, November 26.
The launch of the branch in Tettenhall Way, just off the A251, brings 25 jobs to the area.
It forms part of the 310-home Perry Court development, which also includes a three-storey Premier Inn hotel, a 66-bed care home and a parade of shops.
It will be led by store manager Simon Possee, and open between 8am and 10pm from Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
The new supermarket will have safety measures in place, including sanitisation stations on entry, Perspex screens at the tills and social distancing reminders, as well as a traffic light system to control the number of people going in and out of the store.
Mr Possee said: “We’re really looking forward to opening the first Aldi store here in Faversham.
"It’s set to be a great day and it’ll be lovely to welcome our new customers into the store and provide them with access to affordable, high quality food.”
A spokesman said the new store will offer fresh, British meat products with weekly offers, Aldi’s award winning ‘Specially Selected’ range, exclusive beers, wines and spirits, and a ‘Food to Go’ section at the front of the store.
The firm's Specialbuys will also be available in the middle aisle, every Thursday and Sunday, offering a range of products from electrical items to garden tools.
The company is calling on local charities and food banks in Faversham to register with Neighbourly, a community engagement platform that links businesses to charitable organisations in the community.
Charities that register will be able to collect surplus food and perishable products, such as fruit, vegetables and baked goods, up to five days a week.
Any charities in the area that want to partner up with the new Aldi store are asked to email aldi@neighbourly.com.
