Boots in Preston Street, Faversham, broken into overnight

A man has been arrested after two men reportedly broke into a pharmacy in the early hours.

The door of Boots in Preston Street in Faversham was smashed in.

Police have taped the area off this morning after being called at about 4.20am to the report of two men burgling the business.

Following a search of the area, a 38-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of burglary.

He remains in custody, and police are making inquiries to local the second man.

Last week, John High opticians just around the corner in Market Street was targeted by thieves.

A number of frames and sunglasses were stolen.
