A fountain in Faversham is said to provide the freshest water in Kent

The freshest water in Kent is tucked away in a corner of Faversham - and its exact location has now been revealed.

Out of sight in a hush-hush spot at Oare Nature Reserve, hidden behind shrubs and separated from the main path with a muddy walkway is an ancient artesian well.

Thought to date back to the 1700s, the fountain never stops flowing and the clued-up few who know about its delights travel for miles to fill up their empty bottles and take litres of it home with them.

The Spring Head at Harty Ferry

Mainly used by walkers and sailors, you can find the well at the end of Harty Ferry, Oare, just outside of Faversham.
