A mischievous dog had to be rescued by specialist crews after getting stuck in a drain.

The cocker spaniel, Bramble, ran into a stormwater sewer in Faversham before getting lost in the system and unable to find his way out again.

A fire crew was called to Edward Vinson Drive to rescue the pet from the drain.

The team worked to remove the manhole cover and lower a large bag for Bramble.

After a couple of attempts, the cocker spaniel climbed in and was lifted to safety.

A fire service spokesman said: “Bramble was unhurt and very happy to be reunited with his owner.”

It is certainly not the first time a dog has needed to be rescued after getting into a sticky situation.
