Fire crews rescue dog from water pipe near Kemsdale Road, Faversham

A dog has been rescued from a water pipe after getting stuck in a drainage ditch.

Fire crews were called to help free the frightened canine after he fell into a dyke near Kemsdale Road, Faversham.

Crews wearing water safety equipment found the dog, a bull terrier breed, sitting on a concrete ledge next to flowing water.

Firefighters used a dog pole to prevent him from falling in before using a sheet to secure him.

The pooch was then lifted to safety and has been left in the care of his owners.
