Domino’s will open for business at the end of August, the Faversham News can exclusively reveal.
The pizza takeaway chain will open its doors on bank holiday Monday, August 31, which means it will be open for hungry revellers over the Hop Festival the following weekend.
The announcement comes more than two years after it was granted change of use planning permission for the store covering two properties in Limes Place, Preston Street.
The first floor will be turned into five separate flats.
Around 25 new jobs will be created for local people and Domino’s is hiring for a number of roles.
"The new store will generate new jobs for local people looking to serve pizza lovers in Faversham with Domino’s freshly made pizza.” - Domino's spokesman
After years of speculation, with one refused application for the Preston Street premises in 2012 and another refused in West Street, the people of Faversham will no longer have to go to Canterbury and Sittingbourne for their Domino’s Pizza fix.
Head of communications at Domino’s Pizza Group Nina Arnott said: “Domino’s Pizza Group is continually researching and reviewing locations across the country in which to open new stores.
“We identified Faversham as a possible location for a new store, and it’s with great excitement that we will be opening our doors. The new store will generate new jobs for local people looking to serve pizza lovers in Faversham with Domino’s freshly made pizza.”
Planning permission was granted with a number of conditions the store must abide by, including delivery times only being between 9am and midnight, and all deliveries and bin collections must take place through the front door.
There will be opening-day promotions and a competition.
The shop is looking for customer service representatives, delivery drivers and pizza makers. Anyone interested should send their CV to Mario on
