Two fire engines were called to a fuel spillage in Faversham town centre this morning.
Crews were sent to Court Street shortly after 8.20am and worked with Highways England in stemming the flow of fuel.
Eyewitnesses say the spillage was caused by a lorry hitting the kerb.
A spokesman for the fire service said: "The Environment Agency was also in attendance and duty of care was left with Highways England."
