Firefighters called to A251 Faversham crash

A man was cut free from the wreckage of his car after it left the road and hit a tree this morning.

His car had come off the A251 at Faversham after hitting a lorry shortly after 5.20am.

Fire crews removed the door of the vehicle using hydraulic rescue equipment to reach the driver.

Two ambulance crews were also called after the driver reported a head injury.

He was assessed and treated at the scene before being taken to the William Harvey hospital.

A police spokesperson said: "Kent Police was called at 5.21am on Friday 12 January to a collision between a car and a lorry on Ashford Road, Faversham.

"Officers attended the scene alongside the South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue. One of the drivers was taken to a local hospital as a precaution."
