An abandoned, blind, puppy that captured the hearts of many is now a healthy, happy, dog living in a big house in the countryside.

Belle, a black labrador cross, was found a week before Christmas in a park in Orpington and was taken in by Happy Endings rescue centre in Faversham.

She is blind in both eyes and, when she was found, at 10 to 12 weeks old, she was believed to have suffered severe head trauma.

Belle returned for a short visit to Happy Endings after settling into a new home

Staff at the rescue centre launched Belle’s Appeal to raise funds for specialised treatment.

They received nearly £3,000 in donations and the pup was later adopted by a family and now leads a healthy life.

Belle has now returned to the centre to visit the staff who collectively saved her life.

Spokesman Vicky Pilcher said: “A very special young lady came to visit us this week.

“Having grown a lot, full of beans and certainly living life to the full, she just looks amazing.

“Belle has settled in extremely well with her new family, loves her new doggy friends and is most defiantly living the life she deserves.

“Thanks to all your support and extremely kind donations this story has certainly had a very Happy Ending.”
