More than 1,000 revellers attended Happy Endings Rescue Centre annual summer fair and dog show.
The fun-packed charity event gave people the chance to meet the animals in Well Lane, Ospringe, and see them in action.
Children could also be seen, feeding donkeys, having their face painted and enjoying the bouncy castle.
Volunteer Vicky Pilcher, 40, said: "A lot of animals who have been rehomed had returned to compete in the dog show.
"The alsatian Missy, who the Faversham News published a fundraising appeal on, came first in the best rescue dog class."
Mrs Pilcher said: "There were also prizes for the cutest couple and best young dog handler.
"More than £3,000 was raised on the day and these funds are so important to the charity because it keeps us going throughout the year.
"The event is getting bigger and bigger every year and the people involved are really thankful for everyone coming out."
She added that dogs had returned from as far away as Romania to compete in the show too.
