M2 closed between Faversham and Sittingbourne by police after car crash

A car crash on the M2 forced the carriageway to be closed for more than an hour.

Police were sent to the incident on the Londonbound side between Faversham and Sittingbourne.

Police have been called to the crash on the M2 between Faversham and Sittingbourne

Officers were called at 10.25am to the single-vehicle collision between junctions 6 and 5.

The road has been temporarily closed to allow recovery of the vehicle, police said.

It is not yet known whether anyone has suffered injuries.

Delays were reported with the motorway reopening shortly before midday.
