Man from Sandwich arrested after M2 lorry crash near Junction 6 for Faversham

A man has been arrested on suspicion of driving while impaired following a lorry crash on the M2.

The accident happened near the Faversham turn-off at Junction 6 at around 12.45pm on Wednesday.

The lorry, which was travelling on the coastbound carriageway, crashed into the central reservation barrier before eventually coming to a stop on the London-bound hard shoulder.

The 64-year-old, from Sandwich, was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit, through drink or drugs, and dangerous driving.

He has since been released pending further enquiries and no injuries were reported.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses who have yet to speak to them to get in contact.
