Faversham railway station: Man arrested on suspicion of assault

A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and breaching an anti-social behaviour order (ASBO) after a disturbance on a train.

One passenger tweeted to say she had seen a man being taken off the train at Faversham after "kicking and punching guards".

The 26-year-old was arrested by the British Transport Police (BTP) at around 10.30am today.

A spokesman for the BTP said: "We were called to Faversham station at 10.22am to reports of a man causing a disturbance on a train.

"A 26-year-old of no fixed abode was arrested and is currently in police custody."
