Delays as M2 closes between Faversham and Sittingbourne

Motorists are facing delays on the roads this morning as a motorway is closed for roadworks.

The London-bound carriageway between junction 7 for Brenley Corner at Faversham and junction 5 for Sittingbourne, Sheppey and Maidstone is shut.

The closure was put in place from 8pm last night and will continue until 6am on Monday.

It is the first of three planned full weekend closures - while Highways England carries out surfacing works.

Highways England is advising drivers to plan ahead and allow extra journey time if travelling.
