The owner of a popular sweet bakery has revealed the opening date for her fourth shop after another of her stores debuted in the final ever scenes for Netflix's The Crown.
Cheran’s Bakery will soon be serving brownies, giant cinnamon buns, tea cakes, cookies and much more to the people of Faversham – just 10 months after the business first began in West Street, Sittingbourne.
The chain's owner, Cheran Friedman, is opening her latest store in the historic market town this weekend.
It comes two months after the 30-year-old opened her third shop in the former Love Brownies unit in Rochester.
Last week the mum of two’s Medway store was transformed into a florist as Netflix crews and actors descended on Rochester High Street to film the final ever scenes for the streaming service’s hit series The Crown.
It was used to replicate the town of Windsor to help recreate King Charles and Camilla's wedding celebrations.
Whilst filming was underway Cheran was lucky enough to meet the stars playing the royals, including the actor playing Prince Charles, Dominic West, known for his role in The Wire and The Affair, and Olivia Williams who plays Camilla.
She said: “Everyone was so so lovely! The whole cast and crew ate treats from Cheran’s Bakery. I made over 500 items for them.
“Dominic was absolutely lovely. He was really friendly and was more than happy to have his photo with me and my Cheran’s Bakery box.
“He even took a box home for his family to enjoy.
“Netflix was great. They put a stud wall in the shop and put flowers everywhere to make it look like a florist. They even made a new sign for the shop.
“It was really amazing to see how much effort really goes into it all.”
Cheran’s Bakery, Faversham, will be opening at 10.30am on Saturday, April 29.
Cheran said: “I appreciate all of our customers so much and I can’t wait to see them all there showing the shop some love this weekend.
“The response we’ve had about opening our latest shop is brilliant.
“I say it all the time, but all the amazing messages I receive every day, the comments that customers are excited, is the best feeling ever.
“It’s been an incredible 10 months so far.”
Cheran’s Bakery is also open in Canterbury.
In December last year the business celebrated its six-month anniversary by opening its second store in Sun Street.
Opening four shops in less than a year is no easy feat, but Cheran says all the tough moments are worthwhile in the end.
She added: “To any other aspiring business owners it is hard going at times but it’s all worth it.”
Although nothing has been confirmed yet Cheran, from Rock Road in Sittingbourne, is already scouting for the next town her business could open in.
She said: “Lots of our customers have asked us to pop up into their towns next - which blows my mind.
“I’ve been searching Rightmove for weeks now, visiting some towns trying to find our next spot - but I haven’t found anything that fits.
“So I’d love for my customers to help me find the perfect shop.
“If someone can help us find a new shop in a new shop in a new location and we sign the lease - we will give them a £500 finders fee for all the amazing detective skills.”
