Pedestrian on M2 near Faversham causes traffic delays

Traffic ground to a halt on the M2 after a pedestrian was seen walking on the busy motorway.

Police were called at about 12.30pm after the woman was spotted in a live lane on the coast-bound carriageway near Faversham.

A spokesman said: "Officers are in attendance at a location near junction 6 and have located the woman.

"They are now making arrangements to pass her into the care of health professionals."

There were queues of more than half a mile while emergency workers dealt with the incident.
