Pensioner dies after road smash

The Tesco store where the accident happened

Police are investigating after a 73-year-old man died in a crash with a Nissan Micra.

Sydney Wicks was hit by the car in Crescent Road at the entrance to Tesco in Faversham.

He was taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford with serious injuries, but died five days later.

An inquest has been opened and adjourned.

Mr Wicks is from Ashford. The accident happened on Thursday, September 18, at 9.30am and he died on September 23.
