Faversham: British Transport Police smash-and-grab thief

A man who smashed his way into a railway station coffee shop before escaping with a small amount of cash is being hunted by police.

Officers from the British Transport Police have released CCTV pictures of a man they would like to speak to after the incident at Faversham station.

The man entered the station to ask about train times to London. After a brief conversation with station staff he left but smashed the window on his way through.

Investigating officer PC Ed Salusbury-Trelawny said: “This was a brash smash and grab and it is essential the person responsible is identified.

"Thankfully only a small quantity of cash was stolen, nevertheless this type of behaviour will never be tolerated.

“If you think you recognise the man in the CCTV images, I’d urge you to get in touch as we think he has vital information that could help this investigation.”
