MISSING: Michael Mackrill was last seen on Friday, January 19

POLICE are searching an area of Faversham today as an investigation to locate a missing local man continues.

Michael Mackrill, 39, was last seen riding his mountain bike in Faversham at around 12.30pm on Friday, January 19. He told relatives he was going to attend an appointment which he never made.

Today officers and a police dog have been conducting searches in the Hazebrouck Road area of the town, amid growing concerns for Mr Mackrill's welfare.

Det Insp Barry Knott, who is leading the investigation, said: "With a month now passed since Michael’s disappearance, we are obviously keen to follow all lines of enquiry which include searches of the local area.

"Once again, I appeal to anyone who may have information about Michael’s disappearance to get in touch immediately and obviously, if he is able, for Michael to get in touch to let us know he is safe and well."

Mr Mackrill is described as being around 5ft 8 inches tall, with green/grey eyes and a slim build. He was wearing a black bomber jacket, orange jumper, blue jeans and black boots at the time of his disappearance.

Anyone with any further information is asked to call 01622 690055, quoting reference 19/208.
