A serial offender who boasted on Facebook he had a "master’s degree" in crime is back behind bars.
Ashley De Luca made headlines in October last year for bragging on social media that he had a “master’s degree in burglary, robbery, shoplifting and scrap metal” before he was jailed for 119 days.
He had admitted burglary, wearing a police uniform with intent to deceive and seven counts of shoplifting at Maidstone Magistrate’s Court.
His Facebook page went on: “If you have a job don’t hesitate to contact me and I can remove all goods properly and professionally... you can find me in the yellow pages under raggo ashley’s removals ‘take wat u can and give nuffink bak’.”
He was released earlier this year but this week, De Luca is back in prison after pleading guilty to vehicle interference and four counts of shoplifting.
On April 9, the 27-year-old, of Ivory Close, Faversham, stole alcohol worth £19 from the Co-op in Forbes Road.
On April 14, he interfered with a Fiat Punto parked in Wildish Road and stole alcohol worth £28 from the same Co-op.
On April 30, De Luca stole meat worth £20 from Morrisons in North Lane and on May 11 returned to the Co-op to steal alcohol worth £38.
His previous crime wave last year included stealing sweets from a shop in Teynham.
A few days later, he burgled a garage in Belvedere Road and bizarrely wore a police uniform including a black tactical-style jacket and velcro black and white police badge.
He also stole alcohol from Sainsbury’s in Bysing Wood Road and snatched meat and booze from Morrisons in North Lane.
Adding to his charges, on August 15 and September 11 last year, he failed to turn up to court.
On May 27 this year, magistrates at Maidstone sentenced De Luca to 56 days in prison and ordered him to pay a total of £355 in compensation, £150 criminal court costs, £85 costs and an £80 victim surcharge.
