A young man who "didn't have a bad bone in his body" was killed in a crash in Teynham on Friday.

Tributes have poured in to "kind and genuine" Luke Petherbridge, who was driving a Toyota Starlet when it collided with another car in Lower Road.

Luke, who was in his 20s and grew up in Boughton, died at the scene, while a passenger was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries described as life-changing.

Police have since launched an appeal for witnesses to come forward, and are after dashcam footage to establish what happened.

Luke was driving towards Sittingbourne from Deerton Street when his Toyota collided with an orange Vauxhall Mokka just after 10.45am.

Following the tragic incident, friends and family have been remembering the former Boughton Primary School pupil.

Posting on Facebook, James CR wrote: "One thing that I do know is that my life will never be the same without you.

"You were one of the funniest, kindest, genuine people that I know. May your journey continue and may you watch down on us, knowing that you will be dearly missed by so many that love you so much."

Friend Joe Gandy also paid tribute, writing: "Still don't want to believe it or believe I'm having to write this... you didn't have one bad bone in your body, always a laugh to be around.. and a strong heart. You rest softly mate, gonna miss you big time (sic)."

Laura-Jayne Carroll commented: "Such sad news. He was a very special young lad remembered fondly."
