Two arrested after break-in at KGN News in Faversham

Two men have been arrested following a break-in at a newsagents in Faversham.

Oliver Scott, 43, of Larksfield Road, and Liam Scott, 18, of Lower Road, were arrested at midday on Friday (February 16).

The pair allegedly stole cash, alcohol, cigarettes, tobacco, a charity collection box, lottery scratch cards and lottery machinery from KGN News on Preston Street in the early hours of Friday morning, after breaking a glass pane on the shop door.

The stolen items valued more than £4,000 in total.

The men have also been charged with stealing a Mitsubishi L200 worth £1,500 on Thursday, February 15.

They have been remanded to court.

The break-in follows two burglaries at Carter's newsagents on Market Street on Saturday February 10 and Thursday February 1.

No arrests have been made in connection with these.
