POLICE are investigating the theft of fishing equipment worth several hundred pounds from a Ford Transit van.

The thieves smashed a window to gain access to the van which was parked in Whitstable Road, Faversham. The incident happened sometime on Monday evening.

Police are reminding people of the need to remove valuable items from their vehicles to deter thieves.
