Love is in the air at Shepherd Neame where romantic brewers have created a unique beer for Valentine's Day.

Heart Warmer, lovingly-crafted with rose petals and passion fruit, is a 4.2 per cent abv fragrant, pale beer.

Its distinctive heart-shaped pump clip will be appearing in selected Shepherd Neame pubs and freehouses during Valentine's Day weekend.

Senior brewer Stewart Main said: "The petals of a dozen red roses and the juice of passion fruit have been carefully brought together, added to the copper and gently boiled with fragrant, aromatic Kentish hops."

Asked if beer might be the way to a man's heart this year, Stewart said: "We will have to wait until Valentine's Day to see the effect of the passion fruit!"
